Tripartite Governance

Columbia, NewYork-Presbyterian, and Weill Cornell Medicine

Under the tripartite governance structure, each institution will have an equal say in guiding and overseeing Epic Together.

Enterprise-wide Committee
At the top, the Enterprise-wide Committee is comprised of senior leaders from all three institutions and provides high-level strategy. Led by Columbia University Medical Center dean Lee Goldman, MD, MPH, NewYork-Presbyterian president and CEO Steven J. Corwin, MD, and Weill Cornell Medicine dean Augustine M.K. Choi, MD, this committee's strategic plan was endorsed by the boards of all three institutions.

EMR Executive Committee
The EMR Executive Committee coordinates major aspects of the project. Participants include leaders from Columbia, NewYork-Presbyterian, and Weill Cornell Medicine. This committee of equal partners is charged with balancing the needs of all three institutions to collaboratively effect change.

Key Workgroups and Committees
Several workgroups and committees charged with various goals are helping guide the Epic Together project. More groups will be established as we continue to ramp up activities: IT Change Control, Business Continuity, and Communications.

  • Clinical Operations Workgroup ensures maximum clinical quality and physician satisfaction.
  • Academic Advisory Workgroup ensures support for research and education.
  • Access and Revenue Cycle Workgroup maintains and enhances revenue cycle success.
  • Alignment Committee on Oversight of Requests for Data (ACORD) ensures efficient and secure data sharing and release.
  • Finance Advisory Workgroup ensures that Epic Together is delivered on time and on budget.
  • Legal, Privacy, Security, and Compliance Workgroup maintains compliance.
