The implementation of Epic brings with it great opportunities to engineer processes, practice and policy. As we move through this project, workgroups and multidisciplinary teams across Columbia Doctors, Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian will be examining and providing input to specific areas of focus for Epic implementation. These teams will be engaged in finding opportunities for greater harmonization across the system, improving efficiency, enhancing communications across the care team and with the patient, and in identifying updates to policies and workflow that will be required as we roll out Epic as a single enterprise system.
